Membership

Chi Membership
DKG membership is an honor and is offered by invitation from a local chapter. A candidate for membership must be either employed as a professional educator or retired from an educational position. We also recruit emerging women educators who show potential at the college level. Membership is available year-round with a formal induction in May.
Member Benefits
Leadership and scholarship opportunities are offered at the chapter, state, and international levels. Masters degrees, doctorates, and funding for professional development for scholarships and educational projects are offered from DKG International. In addition, WSO educational travel awards and graduate level scholarships are available to members.
Interested in Chi Membership?
You may be invited to attend a meeting or event where you would get to know chapter members and learn more about our educational projects. Prospective members will receive an invitation to join us as an honor that reflects contributions to excellence in education. For more information, contact us.
Chapter Organization
Our chapter organization consists of an Executive Board which leads chapter projects and activities with assistance from eight standing committee chairs. The board has a past president, president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer.
Members are active in one or more committees to support educational excellence with guidance from the Executive Board. Leadership, Finance, Rules, and Membership Committees focus on making our chapter run smoothly. In addition, our Social Committee plans events to bring us together for fellowship.
Other committees focus on projects we are passionate about. Our Literary Committee oversees a yearly literary competition judging of stories written by area students from 3rd grade through high school. Our Grants Committee actively seeks WSO funding for our projects and leads their implementation. The Educational Excellence Committee identifies members’ interests, plans programs, and recommends projects for the chapter. The World Fellowship Committee connects us to DKG International projects.
Chapter members hold offices and also serve on Wisconsin State Organization Committees including Educational Excellence, World Fellowship, Scholarship, Literary, Rules and Foundation.
